You must aim high, not in what you are going to do at some future date, but in what you are going to make yourself do to-day. Otherwise, working is just a waste of time.

Art is the putting an immaterial vision and feeling into a material form. Naturally, the translation isn’t always smooth and things get lost in the process, this is the struggle, and why suffering is inevitable. Of course, the greater one’s vision, the greater one suffers. For more is unfortunately unable to be expressed, more doesn’t make it through, and consequently the artistic struggle is heightened. So it is with life, life is art, we’re tasked with creating our lives. Struggle and suffering is when our immaterial vision and desire for purpose, truth, etc. is met at every turn by the pains of bearing it out in a material, concrete form. However, it’s to be celebrated… the suffering is proof of art, proof something’s being made, being created, proof we’re engaged in the act of creation.
